Job Summary:
As a Masters Level Psychiatric Clinician, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, creating individualized treatment plans, and delivering outpatient behavioral health therapy services. Collaborating with the Department of Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in the care of patients and support their mental well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive admission assessments, collecting relevant medical, psychiatric, and social history
- Utilize diagnostic tools to form preliminary clinical multi-axial diagnostic impressions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to present clinical assessments
- Engage individuals and families in the development of personalized treatment plans
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing established best practices
- Perform suicide, homicide, and mental status assessments for high-risk patients
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and case management contacts in compliance with regulatory criteria
- Coordinate care with healthcare providers, state agencies, courts, and non-profit organizations
- Stay updated with managed care insurance knowledge and complete insurance authorization tasks
- Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, staff development meetings, and individual supervision sessions
- Provide court testimony when required
- Maintain compliance with department and hospital policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- CT Licensed MSW or Master's degree with current Connecticut certification as an Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC)
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and behaviors to meet age-specific patient needs
- Bilingual preferred
