Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to assess patients and perform joint range of motion, muscle strength, and mobility tests
• Employ therapeutic techniques appropriate to the patient's needs and medical status
• Deliver patient care through interventions such as heat, cold, light, water, sound, electricity, mobilization, and therapeutic exercise
• Communicate patient progress to the Physical Therapist
• Provide patient and caregiver education on treatment, precautions, and equipment use
• Complete all necessary documentation including evaluation, care plan, patient status, visits, and discharge summary
• Assist in patient transition planning and coordinate care with other providers

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current State of CT Physical Therapy Assistant license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous experience in acute care or outpatient setting preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients, families, and colleagues
• Ability to handle stress and exercise independent judgment
