Summary
The State of Queensland is seeking a Senior Project Officer to join the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of projects to support policy and program outcomes, improved coordination of government services, and the development of solutions to local and regional issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and communities across the South-East Queensland region.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate, develop, support, and monitor existing networks and engagement processes to ensure relevant input into policies, programs, projects, and initiatives, and establish new networks where necessary.
- Facilitate community Pathway to Treaty consultations and implementation of the Local Thriving's community agenda.
- Manage community engagement processes, including the monitoring and reporting of actions and outcomes from these processes that deliver benefits to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
- Lead, coordinate, and contribute to regional and place-based projects, including the Youth Employment Program and initiatives to implement whole-of-government program and service delivery responses to issues impacting the Brisbane and Bayside area.
- Provide regular reports to the Program Manager on the effectiveness of projects, programs, and service delivery to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Establish, maintain, and support relationships/networks/partnerships between communities and other stakeholders, including all levels of government, non-government organizations, and the business community.
- Provide advice through formal briefings, project plans, and quality and concise reports to the Program Manager on issues impacting communities and the effectiveness of government services.
- Collect and analyze data to inform the development and implementation of whole-of-government service delivery responses to community issues.
- Be responsive to service requests from the community, agencies, and government departments as required.
- Other priorities as requested by the Regional Director and Program Manager.
Requirements
- All applicants must nominate an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to their ability to meet the cultural capability criteria.
- Applicants' confirmation as a First Nations Australian does not exempt them from providing a cultural reference.
- For some roles, it is a condition of employment to comply with the department's COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements policy.
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing, and reporting risks relating to their work with the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DSDSATSIP).
