Job Summary

The Interventional Technologist plays a vital role in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Interventional Radiology department. You will operate digital equipment, position patients, and prepare contrast media to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Your comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential in providing accurate and high-quality images.

Responsibilities

• Operate IR equipment to produce accurate images while maintaining sterile technique
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures utilizing the correct exposure factors
• Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records
• Obtain relevant patient information and explain procedures to patients
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards
• Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives
• Demonstrate competencies to meet age-specific patient needs and cultural diversity

Qualifications

• State of Connecticut Radiographer license
• ARRT certification in Radiography
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
• At least 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist, 1-2 years IR experience preferred
