Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will work closely with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the operating room. You will assist the surgeon during procedures and assist with cleaning the operating room after each operation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and arranging surgical equipment and supplies
  • Assisting the surgeon during procedures
  • Cleaning and maintaining the operating room
  • Proper routing of equipment and used materials

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have:

  • Completion of a surgical technician program
  • Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
  • CPR and BLS validation
  • Knowledge of various surgical procedures and equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field
  • Application of aseptic principles for optimal patient care
  • Knowledge of OR emergency situations
