Encompass Health, a national leader in post-acute care, is proud to offer a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at our Cumming, GA Rehabilitation Hospital. In this role, you will provide speech-language treatment and patient care in accordance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional guidelines. You will also have the opportunity to delegate tasks and supervise fellows, technicians, and assistants, while maintaining open and ongoing communication with other hospital departments to ensure all patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.

Credentials:

To qualify for this position, you must have current state licensure or certification as an SLP. Successful completion of an accredited master's degree program or an accredited bachelor's degree program with sufficient experience in the field is also required. Additionally, you should possess demonstrated competence in speech-language pathology evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment. Strong communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, and federal regulations and professional guidelines.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise fellows, technicians, and assistants.
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with hospital departments to ensure that patient, staff, and hospital needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Current state licensure or certification on or before the first day of employment.
  • CPR certification (preferred) or as required by hospital policy.
  • Successful completion of an accredited master's degree program or an accredited bachelor's degree program plus sufficient experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated competence in speech-language pathology evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment.
  • Effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers.
