Chamberlin Park is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Infection Control Nurse, Risk Management Nurse to join our team. As an RN Infection Prevention Nurse, you will play a vital role in evaluating the quality of resident care and outcomes related to healthcare-associated infections. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing monitoring of healthcare-associated infections
- Assess infection prevention areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective action
- Oversee the antibiotic stewardship program
- Prepare the agenda for the infection prevention committee
- Monitor or oversee infection prevention practices and employee compliance
- Serve as a resource for all departments and personnel
- Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures
- Conduct outbreak investigations and initiate control measures
- Report communicable diseases to local, state, and federal agencies as required by law
- Provide educational offerings for orientation and ongoing in-services
- Consult with department heads, pharmacists, and physicians to improve care
- Initiate follow-up on employee/resident exposures to communicable diseases
- Attend facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program meetings
- Interact with occupational health on issues related to exposures to communicable diseases
- Participate in short- and long-range planning for the infection prevention department
- Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of Ohio
- Primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or related field
- Qualification by education, training, experience, or certification
- Specialized training in infection prevention and control
- Ability to teach and evaluate clinical performance
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer skills required for the position
