Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the position of RN ICU. As an integral member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient care based on the Watson Model of Care. Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving model, anticipating and planning to meet patient and family needs
• Conduct focused nursing assessments and adjust the plan of care accordingly
• Apply current literature and research findings to make sound clinical decisions
• Develop and maintain therapeutic nurse/patient relationships
• Communicate effectively with clinical team members using the SBAR technique
• Document patient care and follow unit-specific and hospital documentation policies and procedures
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians and team members in the evaluation and revision of patient care
• Demonstrate the ability to supervise, instruct, and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel
• Maintain a safe and clean environment that complies with regulatory standards
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities

Requirements:

• Education: Associates Degree in Nursing/equivalent or higher level of nursing degree (BSN preferred)
• Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in Critical Care nursing (Certification in Critical Care Nursing preferred)
• Licenses: Current California Nursing license, Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers, Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Special Skills/Knowledge: Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish), basic computer skills, completion of a Critical Care Course preferred, electronic medical record experience preferred
