Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving model to anticipate and plan for patient and family needs
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments and evaluate and alter the plan of care as needed
• Provide age-specific care and apply current research findings and critical thinking skills
• Foster therapeutic nurse/patient relationships and uphold patient rights
• Communicate effectively using the SBAR technique
• Document patient care according to hospital policies and procedures
• Maximize patient comfort and actively involve patients in their recovery
• Meet the learning needs of patients and families and ensure positive patient outcomes
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning
• Collaborate with physicians and team members regarding changes in patient condition
• Plan, supervise, instruct, and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel
• Maintain a safe and clean environment that meets regulatory standards
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience
• Minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience preferred
• Current California Nursing license
• Basic EKG competence
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
• Basic computer skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card within 90 days of hire
