Details

As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will:

  • Organize, plan, direct, and coordinate high-quality, individualized patient care in the Labor and Delivery department.
  • Demonstrate the use of the nursing process to anticipate and meet patient and family needs.
  • Apply current research findings and critical thinking skills to make sound clinical decisions.
  • Maintain a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Promote patient satisfaction by providing exceptional care and addressing patient and family concerns.
  • Utilize effective communication techniques, including SBAR, during hand-off situations.
  • Document patient care accurately and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hospital's quality and performance improvement process activities.

Requirements To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Current California Nursing license.
  • Certification in Maternal Child Health Nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN or NCC preferred).
  • Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB) certification (transition to Crisis Prevention Institute Card required).
  • Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
