Summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the position of Clinical Staff Nurse in the Labor and Delivery department. As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth management of patient care services. This is a full-time night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, direct, and coordinate high-quality, individualized patient/family-centered care based on the Watson Model of Care
• Assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans
• Provide nursing interventions and treatments
• Maintain a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital policies
• Collaborate with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning
• Evaluate nursing interventions and outcomes
• Supervise and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel
• Uphold professional appearance and maintain a safe and clean environment

Requirements

• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred
• Associates degree in nursing required
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
• Current California Nursing license
• Certification in Maternal Child Health Nursing preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
• Basic computer skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Required (AWHONN or NCC preferred)
• Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
