Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts (1300-2330)
  • Location: Downey, CA

Responsibilities:

As an RN Circulator Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing the nursing process as a problem-solving model to anticipate and meet patient and family needs
  • Assessing patients and implementing appropriate nursing interventions
  • Applying current literature/research findings and critical thinking skills to make sound clinical decisions
  • Developing and maintaining therapeutic nurse/patient relationships and conducting hourly rounding on patients
  • Communicating effectively using the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) method
  • Documenting patient care, including assessments, plans, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care
  • Maximizing patient comfort and actively involving patients and their families in the recovery process
  • Collaborating with Care Managers for interdisciplinary discharge planning
  • Reviewing patient orders, communicating changes in patient condition with physicians, and ensuring follow-up care
  • Supervising and evaluating ancillary nursing personnel, floats, orientees, and registry staff
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment that complies with regulatory standards
  • Participating in quality and performance improvement activities

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred; Associates in nursing required
  • Qualifications/Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services nursing preferred; Current California Nursing license; CNOR certification preferred
  • Special Skills/Knowledge: Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish); Basic computer skills; Current BLS and ACLS certifications; Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
