Position Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist RRT / Respiratory Care, you will assess patients, develop care plans, and provide advanced respiratory care modalities. You will monitor patient condition, administer medications, and educate patients and their families on health conditions and available support programs. Additionally, you will maintain infection control policies and demonstrate competency in equipment usage.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment
  • Develop and implement patient care plans based on diagnosis
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice and treatment effectiveness
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions and community support programs
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters
  • Administer medications related to respiratory diseases
  • Maintain infection control policies
  • Demonstrate competency in equipment utilization

Qualifications

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross
  • Education:
    • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year (Will consider new graduates)
