Position Summary As a Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing care plans, implementing and monitoring patient care, administering respiratory therapies, and educating patients and their families about their health conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
  • Assess patients and develop care plans based on diagnosis
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice and treatment effectiveness
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and community support resources
  • Ensure infection control policies are followed
  • Demonstrate competency with respiratory care equipment
  • Perform pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters
  • Safely administer medications for respiratory diseases

Qualifications

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Therapist from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience (new graduates will be considered)
