Position Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and providing care to patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your expertise will contribute to the development of effective treatment plans and the administration of advanced respiratory care modalities. Educating patients and their families about their health conditions and available support programs is also an important aspect of this role.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment based on diagnosis
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor patient condition and communicate observations
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and suggest alternatives when necessary
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Maintain infection control policies
  • Demonstrate competency in utilizing respiratory care equipment
  • Perform pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters
  • Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases

Qualifications

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Certified BLS Provider by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience (new graduates will be considered)
