  • Standard Hours: 36
  • Job Shift: Shift 1
  • Shift Details: 3/12hr Shifts, every other weekend, every other holiday

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
  • Educate patients and their families about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the most appropriate mode of therapy for each patient.
  • Maintain infection control policies related to patient care.
  • Demonstrate competency in utilizing all equipment required for respiratory therapy.
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters.
  • Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Therapist credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross.
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program.
  • 6 months to 1 year of work experience (new graduates will be considered).
