Position Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will be responsible for evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your expertise and dedication will play a crucial role in providing the highest level of care to our patients.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan, recording and communicating patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and available programs.
  • Assess patient's conditions to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, suggesting alternatives when appropriate.
  • Maintain infection control policies related to patient care.
  • Demonstrate competency in all equipment utilized.
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters.
  • Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
    • Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Education: Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year (consideration for new graduates)
