Position Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will be responsible for evaluating and caring for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your expertise and dedication will play a crucial role in providing the highest level of care to our patients.
Position Responsibilities
- Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
- Implement and monitor patient care plan, recording and communicating patient condition.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and available programs.
- Assess patient's conditions to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, suggesting alternatives when appropriate.
- Maintain infection control policies related to patient care.
- Demonstrate competency in all equipment utilized.
- Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters.
- Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
- Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Education: Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
- Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year (consideration for new graduates)
