Responsibilities:

• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a care plan based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and available programs for support.
• Maintain infection control policies related to patient care and demonstrate competency in utilizing equipment.
• Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters.
• Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.

Qualifications:

• Valid license as a Respiratory Care Therapist from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
• Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Completion of a Respiratory Care Program.
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant work experience (consideration for new graduates).
