Position Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing evaluation and care to patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Your expertise and dedication will make a difference in improving the health and well-being of our patients.
Position Responsibilities
- Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
- Implement and monitor patient care plan, record and communicate patient condition, and perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about the health condition, provide information about community support groups, and available programs.
- Assess patient's condition to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
- Maintain infection control policies related to patient care and demonstrate competency in all equipment utilized.
- Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters and safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross.
- Completion of a Respiratory Care Program.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience (new graduates will be considered).
