Summary

Encompass Health is seeking a passionate and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (Pool) to join our team in Olla, LA. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide respiratory therapy treatment and patient care while ensuring compliance with hospital, state, professional, and federal regulations and guidelines. Your role will not only involve clinical expertise but also creating an environment that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission of providing patient-centered care and treatment in a safe manner.

Qualifications

• Current State License in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

Education, Training, and Experience

• You should have a strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and techniques.
• 2 years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• You must be proficient in the use of general office equipment and computer applications.

Physical Requirements

• Good visual acuity and strong communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift and push/pull a minimum of 30 pounds, including medical supplies, equipment, and patients.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be capable of reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching to perform patient care functions and set up and monitor equipment.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and make decisions.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.

Environmental Conditions

• You will work in an indoor, temperature controlled environment. Occasional outdoor exposure may be required.
• There may be exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
• The facility is handicapped accessible.
• You may work under stressful circumstances at times.

Proficiency and Productivity Standards

• You must meet established attendance standards.
• Adherence to hospital/department dress code, including wearing an ID badge.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or night shifts as needed.
• Availability to work on religious and legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
• Willingness to assist during disaster situations.
