Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing, planning, and administering respiratory care services
• Providing care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Delivering quality patient care with a focus on patient education and reassessment of care needs
• Following department policies and procedures and collaborating with medical staff

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Graduate of an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapist Educational Program or two (2) years of Respiratory college
• New graduates with no previous experience but with 1,000 clinical hours in a hospital setting are welcome
• CRT / RRT registered by N.B.R.C.
• Current CT state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
• PALS or STABLE Certification and NRP certification preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Strong ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in performing pulmonary function testing
• Basic computer skills
• Critical thinking and advanced decision-making abilities
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
