Responsibilities
As a Respiratory Therapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing, planning, and administering respiratory care services
- Providing care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Delivering quality patient care with a focus on patient education and reassessment of care needs
- Following department policies and procedures and collaborating with medical staff
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Graduate of an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapist Educational Program or two (2) years of Respiratory college
- New graduates with no previous experience but with 1,000 clinical hours in a hospital setting are welcome
- CRT / RRT registered by N.B.R.C.
- Current CT state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
- PALS or STABLE Certification and NRP certification preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in performing pulmonary function testing
- Basic computer skills
- Critical thinking and advanced decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
