Hartford HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist CRT for a part-time position in Stamford, CT. Join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, implement and monitor patient care plans, perform advanced respiratory care modalities, and educate patients and their families about respiratory health conditions. Position Summary

  • Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient condition, and perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory health conditions and provide information about community support groups and programs.
  • Assess patients' conditions to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
  • Maintain infection control policies related to patient care and demonstrate competency on all equipment utilized.
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters and safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.

Qualifications

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross
  • Education:
    • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year (will consider new graduates)
