Position Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist CRT, you will be responsible for evaluating patients with respiratory insufficiencies and developing individualized care plans based on their diagnosis. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, perform advanced respiratory care modalities, and assess patient conditions to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy. Additionally, you will educate patients and families about their health conditions and provide information about support groups and available programs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment
  • Develop individualized care plans based on diagnosis
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment outcomes
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and available resources
  • Assess patient conditions to identify the most appropriate mode of therapy
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy
  • Maintain infection control policies related to patient care
  • Demonstrate competency in all equipment utilized
  • Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters
  • Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Certified BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
