Hartford HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist CRT to join our team in providing respiratory care to patients. This is a part-time position with 32 standard hours per week, and the work schedule is on Shift 3 with 12-hour night shifts. Position Summary

• Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Position Responsibilities

• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a care plan based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan, record and communicate patient condition.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about the health condition and available support programs.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
• Maintain infection control policies related to patient care.
• Demonstrate competency in all equipment utilized.
• Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters.
• Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross.
• Education: Completion of a Respiratory Care Program.
• Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year (Will consider new graduates).
