Position Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. You will assess patients, develop care plans, implement and monitor patient care, and educate patients and families about their health conditions and available support programs. You will monitor the effectiveness of therapy and maintain infection control policies to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop care plans based on diagnosis
- Implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient condition
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities
- Evaluate and adjust treatment based on patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about their health conditions and available support programs
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy
- Maintain infection control policies related to patient care
- Demonstrate competency in utilizing respiratory care equipment
- Perform baseline pulmonary function screening and weaning parameters
- Safely administer medications related to respiratory diseases
Qualifications
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Completion of a Respiratory Care Program
- 6 months to 1 year of work experience (consideration for new graduates)
