Details
As a Respiratory Therapist at Boston Medical Center, your responsibilities will include:
- Instituting, monitoring, controlling, and evaluating complex life support systems for acute or chronically ill patients.
- Demonstrating expert knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary pathophysiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry, and pharmacology.
- Maintaining a current license for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Being registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Prioritizing tasks and effectively working in a team environment.
- Providing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Having a caring and sympathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of all personal and health-sensitive information.
- Meeting the physical requirements of the job according to the patient populations regularly served.
Requirements
To be considered for the position of Respiratory Therapist at Boston Medical Center, you must have:
- Completed a two-year AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
- A current license for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Knowledge of related policies, procedures, standards, and equipment.
- Excellent English language reading and communication skills.
- The ability to enter and access data/information using basic computer proficiency.
