Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in various locations, including ambulatory or acute settings. Your main responsibilities will include positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment, and providing patient care during imaging exams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Radiologic examinations on identified patients according to department procedures and protocols.
  • Minimize radiation to the patient, self, and others by practicing appropriate radiation protection techniques.
  • Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records.
  • Obtain all relevant patient information, ensuring the reason for the exam is concordant with the exam request.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency and participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
  • Licensure: State of Connecticut Radiographer license, ARRT certification in Radiography, Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Experience with PACS and digital technology, knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
