Job Summary As a Radiologic Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures. This includes positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment, and providing exceptional patient care during imaging exams. You will work in various locations, including ambulatory or acute settings, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic examinations on identified patients, following department procedures and protocols.
- Utilize patient assessment to produce high-quality images, ensuring accurate positioning and operation of radiographic equipment.
- Practice appropriate radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure.
- Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records, ensuring all relevant clinical information is captured.
- Obtain patient information and review exam requests to ensure concordance and accurate diagnosis.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards.
- Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.
- Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
- Licensure: State of Connecticut Radiographer license, ARRT certification in Radiography, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with PACS and digital technology.
- Knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
