We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in various locations, including ambulatory or acute settings. In this role, you will be responsible for positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment, and providing patient care during imaging exams to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

  • Shift Details: OR X-ray tech day shift and rotating weekends.

Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures. This includes positioning patients, operating radiographic equipment, and providing patient care during imaging exams. You will work in various settings like ambulatory or acute care, ensuring the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic examinations on identified patients according to department procedures and protocols
  • Minimize radiation to the patient, self, and others by practicing appropriate radiation protection techniques
  • Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records
  • Obtain relevant patient information, including lab values and medication usage
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards
  • Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
  • State of Connecticut Radiographer license
  • ARRT certification in Radiography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with PACS and digital technology
  • Knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
