Job Summary
As a Radiologic Technologist, your main responsibility will be to perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in various locations, including ambulatory or acute settings. You will be responsible for positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment, and providing patient care during imaging exams.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic examinations on identified patients using positioning techniques and operating radiographic equipment.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and others by practicing appropriate radiation protection techniques.
- Accurately input procedural information into electronic medical records.
- Obtain relevant patient information and ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards.
- Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.
- Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
- Licensure: State of Connecticut Radiographer license, ARRT certification in Radiography, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Experience with PACS and digital technology, knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and prioritize, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
