Job Summary:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures. This includes positioning patients, operating diagnostic x-ray equipment, and providing exceptional patient care during imaging exams. Your expertise will assist in the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform radiologic examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality images by utilizing proper positioning techniques and equipment operation.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and others by following radiation safety standards and utilizing appropriate shielding devices.
- Input procedural information accurately into electronic medical records, ensuring all relevant clinical information is captured.
- Obtain relevant patient information, including lab values and medication usage, to perform the appropriate exams and ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns, while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Maintain and organize exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.
- Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, evaluating their growth and competence in performing imaging procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
- Licensure: State of Connecticut Radiographer license, ARRT certification in Radiography, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with PACS and digital technology.
- Knowledge of cross-section anatomy preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
