Job Summary
The Psychiatric Clinician will work under the clinical direction of the Department of Psychiatry Medical Director as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team. In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic services to patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive admission assessments and collect patient history through face-to-face clinical interviews
- Utilize clinical assessment tools and prior psychiatric/medical records to inform diagnosis
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team for case presentations
- Engage individuals and families in developing person-centered treatment plans
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices
- Conduct suicide, homicide, and mental status assessments for high-risk patients
- Maintain detailed documentation that meets established regulatory criteria
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of managed care insurance processes
- Coordinate care with hospital providers, physicians, and community organizations
- Complete all required educational, licensing, and quality assurance requirements
Qualifications
- CT Licensed MSW or Master's degree with current Connecticut certification as an Alcohol/Drug Counselor (CADC)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet the needs of patients of all ages
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred
