The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Neurosurgery Physician Assistant/APRN to join our team at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. As part of our Advanced Practice team, you will have the opportunity to practice autonomously while collaborating with a team of attending neurosurgeons and other advanced practice providers. Job Details

In this role, you will manage neurosurgical spine and brain patients on the inpatient side. Your responsibilities will include conducting patient intakes, providing pre- and post-operative care, performing neurosurgical consultations, and assisting attending neurosurgeons during emergency procedures. You will also be responsible for documenting patient progress, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Shifts will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, providing 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be a board-certified Physician Assistant or APRN with First Assist certification. You should have experience in neurosurgery and be comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as well as the ability to make quick decisions and provide high-quality care under pressure.
