Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist
Summary:
Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospitalist team. In this role, you will provide advanced patient care services, collaborating with the attending physician and primary nurse to deliver exceptional family-centered care. You will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, administering medications, and performing minor surgical procedures. Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced knowledge of anatomy, neurology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, gerontology, and medical terminology in the care setting.
- Conduct patient assessments, collect clinical data, and complete physical examinations.
- Order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures.
- Code patient information accurately for billing purposes.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts.
- Act as a mentor to new staff and physician assistant students.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- HIPAA compliant.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner upon hire.
- Certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certified upon hire.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, and feeling constantly.
- Sitting rarely.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling frequently.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and grasping frequently.
