Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist

Summary:

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospitalist team. In this role, you will provide advanced patient care services, collaborating with the attending physician and primary nurse to deliver exceptional family-centered care. You will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, administering medications, and performing minor surgical procedures. Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced knowledge of anatomy, neurology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, gerontology, and medical terminology in the care setting.
• Conduct patient assessments, collect clinical data, and complete physical examinations.
• Order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures.
• Code patient information accurately for billing purposes.
• Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts.
• Act as a mentor to new staff and physician assistant students.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• HIPAA compliant.
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner upon hire.
• Certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certified upon hire.
