As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic interventions under the direction of a physical therapist. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment, ensuring the delivery of age-appropriate and effective treatments to patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the physical therapist in campus locations, home health, and/or outpatient care.
- Evaluate patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team.
- Document the course of patient care, including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
- Participate in survey preparation activities.
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and family.
- Assist the physical therapist in providing team members with in-service/cross-training on physical therapy knowledge and skill areas.
- Contribute to the delivery of cost-effective care.
- Maintain professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities.
- Travel, as needed, to other campus locations and/or home health assignments in the designated territory.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an APTA approved associate degree program or equivalent training that meets all state practice requirements and hold an applicable, unrestricted license to practice.
- Education/experience in working with an adult and geriatric population is preferred.
- Must hold an applicable valid and unencumbered state license.
- Must maintain current CPR Certification for healthcare providers.
- Two (2) years' experience in a healthcare, senior living industry, or long-term care environment preferred.
- Exemplary computer skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and assist and stabilize residents as they transfer from equipment.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
- Must be able to properly operate office equipment.
- Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, leadership team, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates within or outside the Health Campus.
