Description:
Hartford HealthCare invites you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network. We are seeking a full-time Physical Therapist to join our acute care team at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT.
Located in scenic Litchfield County, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed general acute care community hospital that serves as a regional health care resource for over 100,000 residents. Our expert team of caregivers and physicians provide personalized attention to patients in a convenient, safe, and comfortable patient environment.
As a Physical Therapist, you will administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to patients. You will independently evaluate patients' level of function, determine treatment strategies, and deliver and/or delegate physical therapy services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. This role requires evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and the therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, as well as the prescription of exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients' level of function
- Establish measurable goals based on patient care protocols
- Implement appropriate interventions and clinical decision-making
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment, precautions, and equipment use
- Participate in patient transition and discharge planning
- Provide clinical supervision for Physical Therapist students, Rehabilitation Aides, and Physical Therapist Assistants
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy
- Graduates are encouraged to apply
- Previous experience as a Physical Therapist is preferred
- Current State of CT Physical Therapy license or active temporary license
