Responsibilities

As a Pharmacist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, you will:

  • Supervise the work of supportive personnel (pharmacy technicians and associates) to ensure safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Optimize drug therapy for the general patient population, ensuring appropriateness, correctness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide direct patient care for pain management, following physician's requests.
  • Maintain the safety of drug therapy by identifying, preventing, and resolving adverse drug events.
  • Provide valuable drug information and collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient care.
  • Investigate and resolve drug and/or pharmacy related problems through effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Document interventions, outcomes, and statistics to provide opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Demonstrate competencies and behaviors to meet age-specific patient needs.
  • May be required to function as a charge pharmacist.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should have:

  • Pharm.D. degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current CT Pharmacist license or eligibility within 45 days of hire.
  • PGY-1 Pharmacy residency preferred.
  • Prior experience with EPIC systems preferred.
