Responsibilities

As a Pharmacist at Backus Hospital, you will have the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Supervise the work of supportive personnel (e.g., pharmacy technicians and associates) to ensure safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of drugs.
• Optimize drug therapy to maximize positive outcomes for patients.
• Provide direct patient care for pain management, including evaluation, recommendations, and follow-ups.
• Ensure the safety of drug therapy by identifying, preventing, and resolving adverse drug events.
• Provide drug information and serve as a liaison between the Health Care Team and the pharmacy.
• Investigate and resolve drug and pharmacy-related problems for immediate need or further review.
• Document interventions, outcomes, and other statistics to demonstrate activity and success.
• Demonstrate competencies to meet age-specific patient needs.
• Function as charge pharmacist when required.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• Education Requirements: Pharm.D. Required
• Minimum Requirements: Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire. PGY-1 Pharmacy residency preferred. Prior experience with EPIC systems preferred.
