Summary

Hartford HealthCare is currently seeking a Nurse Resident - Graduate Nurse (RN, GN) to join our Med Surg Telemetry team in Marlborough, CT. As a Nurse Resident, you will have the opportunity to transition into clinical practice with the support of our Nurse Residency program. This 12-month program, in partnership with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™, will provide newly licensed nurses with mentorship, resources, and hands-on training to enhance their professional nursing journey.

Job Schedule: Full Time

Standard Hours: 36

Job Shift: Shift 3

Shift Details: 12 hour shifts on either Oncology, Orthopedic, Cardiology, or Med/Surg unit; primarily nights; every other weekend and rotating holidays

This program is designed to provide newly licensed nurses with the necessary support and resources to navigate their professional nursing journey successfully. We have multiple specialties available, including Critical Care, Progressive Care Unit, Med Surg, Cardiology / Telemetry, Emergency, Operating Room, Oncology, and Orthopedic units. As part of the program, Nurse Residents receive focused clinical education, hands-on training, and in-classroom experiences to enhance their skills and competence in the field of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Transition into clinical practice under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals
  • Complete a 12-month residency program designed to provide comprehensive clinical education
  • Gain clinical autonomy and confidence in managing patient care
  • Incorporate research-based evidence into nursing practice
  • Develop critical thinking and inter-professional team building skills

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Active State of CT RN license or pending license with successful completion of NCLEX
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications
