Job Responsibilities:

As the Manager of Psychiatric Emergency Services, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical and administrative oversight of Psychiatric Emergency Services, including daily operations, policy and procedure development, and implementation.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the program and daily operations within the Backus and Windham Hospital Emergency Departments.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the Department of Psychiatry, community providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing Psychiatric Emergency Services policies and procedures in collaboration with Behavioral Health and Emergency Department leadership.
  • Providing leadership and clinical supervision for the Psychiatric Emergency Services staff, including staffing, scheduling, training, counseling, and performance appraisals.

Job Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Current CT clinical license - LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Psychologist required.
  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline (social work, psychology counseling, marriage & family therapy) required.
  • At least 5 years of psychotherapy experience with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity required.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Considerable decision-making authority concerning the daily activities of the work unit.
  • Computer proficiency.
