Ascension is seeking a dedicated LPN Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Surgical Vascular team at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo, MI. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. • Schedule: Full time, 36 hrs/week, Night shift (7pm - 7:30 am)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure their well-being
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plans and post-discharge care

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
