Job Summary
As a Licensed Psychiatric Clinician, you will work within the Emergency Department to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments for patients presenting with behavioral health and substance abuse needs. You will collaborate with the emergency department staff to develop care plans and assist in crisis intervention. Additionally, you will respond to crisis calls and provide support to individuals in need. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments within the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with the emergency department staff to coordinate care for patients
- Respond to crisis calls and provide crisis intervention
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
- Develop and implement care plans for patients
- Document all patient interactions and interventions
Qualifications
- Current Connecticut license as LCSW, LMFT, LADC, or LPC
- Master's degree in mental health discipline
- Minimum of two years' experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
