Job Responsibilities

As an LPN in our Med/Surg department, you will:

  • Perform medication administration, including oral agents, injections, insulin, vaccines, IV fluids, and antibiotics
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Educate patients and family members on treatments, procedures, and medications
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the Registered Nurse
  • Perform point of care testing and specimen collection
  • Start and replace tube feedings
  • Administer oxygen
  • Perform EKGs
  • Provide wound and skin care
  • Document all care provided in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • LPN Educational Training and proof of licensure in the State of CT
  • Current Connecticut LPN License
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role as an LPN or patient care technician
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge to evaluate and treat patients
