Summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Med/Surg team at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut. As an LPN, you will work under the direction of a registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse, providing supportive and restorative care to patients in an acute care hospital setting. This is a part-time position with a schedule of 24 hours per week, including every other weekend and every other holiday.

Job Responsibilities

As an LPN at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing medication administration of oral agents and injections
• Administering approved IV fluids and electrolyte replacement
• Providing routine care to patients
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to monitor patient conditions
• Educating patients and their families on treatments, procedures, and medications
• Performing point-of-care testing and specimen collection
• Administering oxygen and performing EKGs as ordered
• Phlebotomy training
• Providing wound and skin care as directed
• Documenting care provided in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• LPN educational training and proof of licensure in the State of CT
• Current Connecticut LPN License
• BLS certification
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in a similar role
