As an Interventional Technologist, your responsibilities will include operating digital equipment, positioning patients, and preparing contrast media for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will work closely with physicians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and the ability to work with various types of contrast media. You may also be required to perform procedures in other departments, such as the operating room or cath lab.
Responsibilities
- Operate interventional radiology equipment while maintaining sterile technique
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures with accurate exposure factors
- Document procedures accurately in patient charts
- Input procedural information into electronic medical records and other systems
- Obtain relevant patient information and ensure proper exam preparation
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment
- Perform quality assurance testing on equipment
- Maintain clinical proficiency and participate in ongoing education
- Demonstrate cultural competence and work effectively as a team member
Qualifications
- State of Connecticut Radiographer license
- ARRT certification in Radiography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
- At least 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
