Job Summary
As an Interventional Technologist, you will operate digital equipment and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Interventional Radiology. Your responsibilities will include positioning patients, preparing contrast media, and working with various imaging modalities. It is essential that you have comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to work with contrast media and other substances.
Responsibilities
- Operate Interventional Radiology equipment to produce accurate images while maintaining sterile technique
- Assemble sterile trays and perform scrub duties as necessary
- Accurately document procedures performed and verify correct orders and relevant history
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures using the correct exposure factors
- Input procedural information into electronic medical record, RIS, and PACS systems
- Obtain relevant patient information and ensure concordance with exam request
- Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
- Utilize infection control techniques to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards
- Perform quality assurance testing on equipment
- Participate in department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives
- Demonstrate competencies to meet age-specific patient needs and cultural diversity
- Collaborate effectively with the department and other units
Qualifications
- State of Connecticut Radiographer license
- ARRT certification in Radiography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
- At least 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
