Details:

St. Vincent's Medical Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, is hiring a Graduate Nurse for a 36-hour night position. The schedule consists of 3-12 hour shifts, with every other weekend and every other holiday. You will provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor patient care plans, and coordinate patient discharge planning. Additionally, you will assess patients' needs, delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel, and participate in interdisciplinary patient rounds. The role requires adherence to ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans
  • Serve as a primary coordinator for well-coordinated patient care
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs
  • Provide individualized care based on patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related needs
  • Delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds
  • Reflect ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care
  • Partake in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care
  • Perform other assigned duties

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Current Connecticut RN license
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association
  • Associate degree required, BSN preferred
  • Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred
