Summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Clinician to join our team in Norwalk, CT. As an Emergency Department Clinician, you will be providing behavioral health counseling services to patients. You will conduct patient assessments, administer individual and group therapy, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy interventions. In addition, you will be responsible for providing patients with appropriate resources and therapeutic activities in the community.

• Shift Details: This position rotates between days and evenings. Some opportunity for a 12-hour shift. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals
• Administer individual and group therapy
• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions
• Provide patients with information regarding community resources and therapeutic activities
• Responsible for precertification of patients seen in the ED prior to admission into the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
• Obtain patients' prior history for the medical physician, psychiatrist, mental health professional, or family member
• Provide appropriate and safe discharge plans under the oversight of the psychiatrist
• Review patient notes and initiate the plan of treatment

Qualifications

• Preferred Certification: Licensed Clinical Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Registered Nurse, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Education: Bachelor's degree required if RN, Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Marriage and Family, Alcohol and Drug, Counseling, or Psychology
• Work Experience: Prefer experience in a psychiatric setting
