Summary:

Hartford HealthCare, an integrated healthcare network in Connecticut, is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Clinician to join our Behavioral Health team. As an Emergency Department Clinician, you will provide behavioral health counseling services, conduct assessments, administer therapy, and ensure appropriate treatment plans are implemented. This is a part-time position with flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals
  • Administer individual and group therapy sessions
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations
  • Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions
  • Provide patients with information about community resources and therapeutic activities
  • Assist in precertification of patients prior to admission into the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
  • Obtain patients' prior history and communicate this information to designated staff
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists to develop safe discharge plans

Qualifications:

  • Connecticut licensure in LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LADC, Psychologist, or RN
  • Bachelor's degree required for RN; Master's degree in a mental health-related field required for all others
  • Prior experience in behavioral health, especially for Registered Nurses, is strongly preferred
