As an Emergency Department Clinician in Behavioral Health, you will have the opportunity to provide counseling services and support to patients in need. This is a part-time position with flexible hours that require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.

With 473 beds, an inpatient psychiatric facility, and a large multispecialty provider group, we provide comprehensive care to our patients. As an Emergency Department Clinician, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs, establish therapy goals, conduct individual and group therapy sessions, and evaluate therapy effectiveness. You will also provide patients with information about community resources and assist in creating safe discharge plans under the guidance of a psychiatrist.
Qualifications:
- Connecticut licensure in LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LADC, Psychologist, or RN
- Bachelor's degree required for RN, Master's degree in a mental health related field required for all others
- Experience in behavioral health strongly preferred for Registered Nurses
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals
- Administer individual and group therapy sessions, maintaining thorough and confidential records
- Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions
- Provide information about resources and therapeutic activities in the community
- Precertify patients seen in the Emergency Department before admission into the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
- Obtain patients' prior history for the medical team and communicate relevant information
